Assateague Island National Seashore

Kris on the Assateague beach at dusk.
Taking full advantage of some splendid November weather, Kris and I ventured to Assateague Island which many had recommended as a good local leisurely beaching spot.  We loved it.  Saw the famous wild horses (domestic ones too), strolled like kids along the surf, and grimaced at the less than delectable-looking horseshoe crabs, which are actually arthropods and are more closely related to scorpions and spiders.  A fun intro to a new cool place.
