Space Shuttle Discovery over DC

SS Discovery riding piggyback.
On April 17, 2012, not a bird, not a plane, not Superman, but the Space Shuttle Discovery flew over DC on its final journey from Florida to D.C., touching down at the Smithsonian's Udvar-Hazy Air and Space Museum near Dulles Airport.  The news reports said to look up between 10:00 and 10:30 am.  I happened to be downtown and walked outside at 10:00, looked up and there it was--whoa, perfect timing!  For this shot, I wandered a few blocks toward the White House and happened to catch the shuttle (on the back of a 747) after it had made a big loop around the city.  It was equally interesting to see hundreds of people stopping in their tracks, putting their work day on hold, to stare at that thing in the sky.
